The books may not have much to do with the North, but this year’s crop of CBC’s Canada Reads books look pretty great. Also, I have a giant crush on Wab Kinew.
So for the next few weeks, depending on their availability at the local Inuvik library, I’ll be reading the five books featured this year: Saleema Nawaz’s Bone & Bread, The Illegal by Lawrence Hill, Minister Without A Portfolio by Michael Winter, Birdie by Tracy Lindberg, and The Hero’s Walk by Anita Rau Badami.
While reading is a solo thing, talking about what you read afterwards ideally isn’t. I’d love to hear from you about these books and any others.
